Mama Quilla (pronounced Key-yah, and a Quechua language term that has been morphed into modern Spanish language, or Mama Killa more modernly) is the Ancient Incan Goddess of the Moon, and mother to those who began the Incan Empire. She is associated with water and emotions, protecting women, and said to cry silver tears, which the Incans mined to create beautiful offerings to her for fertility, good crops, and wise decisions during times of war, balancing celestial aspects and their triggers. Mama Quilla was known to have the secrets of time itself, and ruled over celestial aspects, time, and therefore light and the distance it travels.
This necklace was made 5 hours after moonrise, at a time when the Sun was conjunct with Saturn, with extreme grounding, peaceful patience and the right stones for grounding, purification, and balance (Black Spinel). The Australian Fire Opal was chosen for its inner fire and light, signifying both solar and lunar aspects, with the rainbow colors of all chakras for balance of emotions, and water elements.
